Teachers

Aleksandra (Ola ) Wawrzyniak

I started my oriental dance adventure at the beginning of 2009 at the age of 29. I had earlier experience with ball-room, Latin dances and Break-dance but I thought I was too old for any dancing career. To be honest I have always loved to dance but for most of the time I was not aware of that, sometimes even ashamed of that (!). But there was a moment when I had to finally admit how dance is important to me. And then luckily I read somewhere that Belly dance is a form of dance for woman of every age. And that was it! I studied Bellydance (Egyptian), ATS and Tribal Fusion simultaneously for 2 years in oriental school of Anna Redlin in Lodz (Poland): Salome. I also have been learning a lot on my own from DVDs, articles, online forums and of course - workshops. My most famous teachers are: Rachel Brice, Arrielah, Rachid Alexander, Mercedes Nieto, Anna Redlin, Maria Fomina, Jamilah of Poland, Lorna of Cairo, Naima, Alexis Southall, Sabriye Tekbilek, Mohamed Shahin, Aziza, Tito, Yousry Sharif, Serena Ramzy, dr prof Hassan Khalil, Nuryiya Hannem, Nabila...
Recently I have become completely addicted to the Egyptian art of Raqs Sharki and put aside more modern styles of Bellydance.
You can find me performing and teaching in Ireland, mostly in Dublin and sometimes more far away in Europe.
I am running a performing group "Meret Dance Group" and I am also qualified Pilates instructor holding CYQ Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Pilates mat work.
